The other day I was having lunch at my parents. My mother, who is Democrat, made a comment after Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts. She said, “People amaze me sometimes, because his supporters will continue to blindly follow him, to whatever he says, including all of his lies.” I then started to hilariously crack up. My mother asked, “What’s so funny?” I (do not have any political affiliation whatsoever) then replied, “Out of all the examples you could have used, in regards to actions of people blindly following their leader, you chose Trump?” I then continued, but I continued in fluent German, for 2 reasons. I did not want my father, who’s Jewish, and had many relatives die in concentration camps understand anything I said. Secondly, I spoke in my mother’s native tongue, because she was born and raised in Germany. So I’m sure you can imagine I had a much much better example of people blindly following their leader. She then replied back in German, “Get the fuck out of my house.”
